THE SUCCESS INSTITUTE AT MY SISTER'S CLOSET
My Sister’s Closet is a Bloomington non-profit organization established to build a stronger community and promote economic self-sufficiency by providing low-income and at-risk women with professional support services and tools for success, such as free work force attire and job search training.
“Over the past year and a half, members of IU AMA have helped assist many clients in the Bloomington community to develop their own professional brand and market themselves in their job search. Our members used their skills to provide the clients everything they needed to walk into an interview confident and prepared!”

Educate on important elements of resume and cover letter writing to market oneself as an exceptional candidate for different positions
Conduct mock interviews in a low-pressure environment, providing feedback and coaching
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to eliminate poverty housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with qualifying families. Habitat homeowners pay interest-free, no-profit mortgages, which are used to build more Habitat houses. Because houses are principally built with volunteer labor, mortgage payments are affordable for low-income partners. Every year, IU AMA members volunteer together to assist in building these homes and make a positive impact on the Bloomington community.
INDIANA UNIVERSITY DANCE MARATHON
Indiana University Dance Marathon is an annual 36 hour dance marathon benefiting the patients at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. Each year, more than 3,000 students stay awake and on their feet to raise money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In the 26 years of IUDM’s existence, more than $24 million have been donated, making it the second largest student-run philanthropy in the United States. In 2018, IUDM raised a grand total of $4,187,051.23 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Riley Hospital for Children. Many children and families have received tremendous care and support while they battle diseases and illnesses because of the dedication and endless hard work of the students at IUDM over the past 26 years. IU AMA members form a team and dance together during the incredible event.
